SITE MANAGER, Full Time Role

Job Description

Site based position whose responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervising construction site(s), coordinating and directing a team of construction workers and subcontractors to ensure standards of building performance, quality, costs, schedules and safety are maintained;

  • Coordinating and organising Foremen, Leading Hands, concrete tradesmen, carpenters, steel fixers and any subcontractors working for Speedpro;

  • Implementing and maintaining safety policies and procedures;

  • Handling all day to day site issues, including labour issues, safety issues and HR issues;

  • Maintaining thorough site records / diaries, ensuring to document contract variations, lost time, incident reports and drawing changes/revisions.;

  • Maintaining records of all labour hours and deliveries;

  • Keep informative data of daily actions and quality control;

  • Ensuring all workmanship is within quality parameters and meets statutory and company requirements;

  • Striving for continuous improvement in Quality, OH&S and Environment at all times;

  • Tracking actual progress against contract program on daily basis with engineers, and develop/implement appropriate recovery actions where required;

  • Selecting appropriate tools, materials and equipment required to carry out the contract works, and track inventory;

  • Negotiating and managing the efficient supply of labour and materials within scope of accountability and ensure the required quality standard is maintained;

  • Ensuring all requisitions are planned and submitted in advance so that timely delivery of supplies to the site is achieved. Materials should not be stored on the site for excessive periods of time;

  • Reporting promptly to the Construction Manager / General Manager any matters of concern to enable appropriate action to be taken;

  • Accurately reading plans to coordinate daily actions;

  • Working in with principal contractor and liaising with Construction Manager to ensure transparency across all works;

  • Planning and ordering of materials within budget, and time focused;

  • Upholding and protecting the reputation and integrity of Speedpro at all times;

  • Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones;

  • Being solutions focused;

  • Promoting Team Vision and Team code daily.

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant trade qualifications and significant experience in building construction;

  • Minimum 2-3 years proven experience working in a similar role preferred, managing a workforce of up to 30+ workers;

  • Proven success in delivering major projects at Site Management level;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills;

  • Demonstrated decision making and team building skills;

  • Familiarity with industrial relations issues and resolution practices;

  • Ambitious and motivated work ethic driven, focused on achieving program outcomes;

  • Flexible with duties and working in a team and independently;

  • You will need to successfully clear a pre-employment medical.

SITE ENGINEER, Full Time - Job Description

  • Site based position whose responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Management of project induction and onboarding requirements;

  • Subcontractor management;

  • Maintaining up to date document registers;

  • Quantity take-offs and estimating;

  • Managing procurement of materials, with a focus on long lead time items;

  • Managing design documentation and resolving queries with the client;

  • Managing QA documentation (procedures, ITPS, checklists);

  • Working closely with the Site Managers;

  • Tracking daily costs and productivities;

  • Assisting with 2-week look ahead programs;

  • Processing and cost coding invoices and dockets,

  • Ensure all site activities operate according to the program schedule

  • Promote and develop a strong safety culture.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • Previous exposure with civil and building infrastructure projects beneficial;

  • Experience working in concrete and large-scale structures;

  • Site based experience preferred;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders;

  • Strong IT skills (proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word)

  • Ambition, drive and high-quality work, adhering to timelines;

  • Flexible with duties and working in a team and independently;

  • You will need to successfully clear a pre-employment medical.
